Day 4: Made to last

“When you fully comprehend that there is more to life than just here and now, you will begin to live differently.”
Two close friends of mine had a fight about what in my opinion was a stupid problem. A miscommunication, maybe, was what lead to the fight. Now, they’re struggling to make it up to each other, and I frankly agree they shouldn’t rush it. If they do, they’ll get caught in the moment again and the miscommunication will be more, well, miscommunicated.
It’s all too familiar to me though. I’ve been through this before, all of it. I went so deep into a rabbit hole, mourning for myself but keep digging deeper instead of getting out. I was caught up in the present, the situation, the now that I forgot my surrounding and there was more to life. There was always more to life than all the obsession about a person, the struggle in a class, the fragile state of your bank account or the imaginary fame each of us are shooting for. It’s easy to think the here and now are the most important thing at any moment, but the truth is that you shouldn’t get caught in a moment, whether it’s good or bad.
When you do that, you’ll figure out your values. You’ll be looking to your future instead of looking for it. You’ll realize people are around you and most of them are good at heart, that you’ll not alone, that you’ll never be alone. You see more that what is given to you, the grade, the salary, the money, the popularity. Because at the end, all of our heart will stop and we’ll be left wondering if our lives are any meaningful to anyone, and I assure you, you will die more happier if you know your life means something.
So stop wasting time. The clock is ticking. Go to the person you love and build up the relationship you have. Go to the person you hate and ask them how they’re doing. Use your life in a meaningful way, a way that when you stop breathing, people will cry for you while you close your eyes and smile.
Because there is more to life than yourself, your achievement and your wealth.
Don’t think about what to do now, or what to do tomorrow. Think about what you would do with your life, and start focusing your life to make a difference in a world that you’ll surely leave behind.
Make your life count.

Sincerely,
