Day 47: Shoot your shots

You ever heard the phrase “Not everyone you lose is a lost”?
It supposed to mean you’ve gotta let go of whatever is making your life hard and challenging.
I mean, it’s a good thing after all. Why would you hold on to the things that hurt you? Why would you continue to search hopelessly for gold even when you’re dying just for a cold glass of water? Why would you keep doing the one thing that you think won’t go anywhere?
You shouldn’t.
Or that’s what you were told.
That’s what you’d like to think.
You’re hammering away a rock for tenth, fiftieth and even a hundredth time and nothing, not even a crack, appears. You should stop.
Unless, of course, on the hundred and first strike, the rock splits in two. It was not that blow that did it, but the cumulative blows before. But you’d never know, because you stopped on the hundredth blow. You would never get to split the rock. You would never get to dig your gold. You would never get what you want. Why? Because you stopped and scared that what you do will never be enough.
Things in life worth having don’t come easy. If they do come easy, maybe they’re not worth having.
So maybe, everyone you lose is a lost.
Fight then.
What do you have to lose?
                                                                                                                                       Best,

                                                                                                                                       Denny
