Villanova Class of 2016
Dear Villanova Class of 2016,
I
remember the first day I came here I had to do a poem with Ethan, who was super
chill, but we still just sit there for awhile and said nothing to each other.
All of us have come a long, long way since then. We know everyone’s name and
that’s not something all high school students can claim. On that day though, I
questioned my decision to come here and I continued to do it at times
throughout the four years here, but it is undeniably one of the best decisions
in my life here.
Getting
to know all of you has been a privilege and spending these four years together
has been a blessing to me. Don’t get me wrong, it was a roller coaster ride
with plenty of ups and downs and sometimes we want to just throw up this high
school thing, but ultimately, it leads to the person I am today, a better
person than when I first showed up. I thank you for that. Large or small, every
single one of you has made an impact in my life, and every single one of you
has made high school so, well, interesting and memorable for me.
We
survived a lot together. We survived Ms. Bennett and her “I walk to Vons”
speech. We survived every Finals that stress us out. We survived changes that
are made to the school. We survived dress code everyday. We survived high
school, together, as one, united class. I truly believe any of us could not
have done so without others. Now, with only roughly 30 hours left of high
school, I believe we can back each other up one more time to step into our
future.
Yes,
our future, shining and glowing right in front of us. It’s us who will be
responsible to run the world. It’s us who will be facing global issues. It’s us
who will be finding cure to diseases we have never heard of. It’s us who will
be eradicating poverty. I believe in the potential of this collection of
amazing and talented individuals. All of us will be successful, even though we
don’t even realize it yet.
So
keep shining, Wildcats!
Love,
Denny
