Day 17: "See what I see!"
"I like to turn things upside down, to watch pictures and situations from another perspectives"
Me: “You can win this in two moves”
Silence….
Five hours (approximately) later…
Dillon: “I don’t see what you see.”
It’s okay. Not many people do.
I would like to think that the way
I think is different, it’s too analytical, too dry, too logical, too
conceptual. I see things other don’t by really digging into the problems. I run
solutions in my mind to determine their results, thus choosing the consequence
that is most desirable. This makes me a robot.
Sadly, I can’t apply this to
people. I can’t input their information and run their data and react
accordingly. I couldn’t quite get it. Sometimes I catch myself thinking, “Why
would someone do this, or that?” Sometimes the things people just, well, don’t
make sense to me. Then, I realize it’s me that the problems lie in. I learned
it the hard way that people don’t think the same way I think, feel the same
thing I feel, and do the same things I do. Everyone is different.
So when Dillon doesn’t see what I
see, I can’t blame him, because he just might have a better idea in his mind
that I don’t know. Everyone has a different perspective on things, because
mainly their experiences are different. Their emotion, feelings, actions are
driven in a way that is unique to them and I can’t completely understand it.
But the least I could do is start learning how to respect others’ opinion and
see the situation from their side. I’ve been telling myself that I’m not the
only one who is struggling and what others see is not what I see. I start putting
myself in others’ shoes, stimulating their experiences and estimate their
reaction. It won’t always be true, in fact, I don’t think it will ever be
completely correct, but doing this helps me to understand everything better.
After all, I’m not the only one on Earth. Sometimes, you have to look at your
opponent’s view on the chessboard to see what your opponent sees.
As for the chess match, the best
view is always in the side view.
As for your loved ones, the best
view is always from their side.
Truly,
